This Privacy Policy explains how Bartal Insurance ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit bartalinsurance.com, contact us, or ask us to quote or service insurance coverage.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly, and information gathered automatically when you browse.
Information you provide
When you submit a quote request or a contractor lead form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the type of insurance you are asking about, and anything else you choose to put in the message. Contractor forms also collect your trade, ZIP code and state. If you go on to become a client, we collect the additional information needed to place and service coverage.
Information collected automatically
Our servers record standard request information such as the pages you visit, the page that referred you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location derived from your IP address. If you arrive from an advertisement, we record the campaign parameters in the link so we can tell which campaigns produce enquiries.
When you record a cookie choice, we store that choice along with a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address, your browser's user agent string, and the date. We store the hash rather than the address itself: it is enough to demonstrate that a choice was recorded, and not enough to identify or track you.
How we use it

- Prepare insurance quotes and shop coverage on your behalf with our carrier partners.
- Provide, service, and administer your policies.
- Send you information you asked for, and service updates.
- Operate, maintain, and improve our website and its security.

Text messaging
If you give us your mobile number and choose to text with us, you consent to receive text messages related to your enquiry and your coverage. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to be contacted is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
How we share it
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to serve you and run our business, with:
- Insurance carriers and underwriters, to obtain quotes and place and service coverage.
- Service providers who operate parts of our infrastructure under contract: Cloudflare (website hosting and the database holding form submissions), Resend (delivering our internal notification emails), and Google (analytics, only if you consent).
- Legal and regulatory authorities, where required by law, subpoena, or our licensing obligations.
Third-party tools we link to
Our contractor quote button sends you to a click-to-bind tool hosted by Next Insurance, an independent third party. Our personal-lines intake link sends you to Canopy Connect. In both cases you leave our site, and that company's own privacy policy and terms govern what happens next. We do not receive your login credentials for either.
We link out to Google Maps for directions rather than embedding a map. That means nothing loads from Google on this site until you choose to follow the link.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies in three ways, and group them into these categories:
- Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function and stay secure. These cannot be switched off, and they include the cookie that remembers your cookie choice.
- Analytics. Google Analytics, which tells us which pages people find useful. These load only after you grant permission.
- Advertising. Used to measure whether an advertisement led to an enquiry. These load only after you grant permission.
Analytics and advertising scripts are not requested at all until you make a choice, so nothing from those vendors loads on your first visit. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using thelink in the footer, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as needed to respond to you, service your coverage, and meet our legal, tax and regulatory recordkeeping obligations. Insurance records are commonly subject to multi-year retention requirements. When we no longer need information, we delete it or render it anonymous.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. Traffic to this site is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, update, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you may opt out of marketing messages at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and some information must be retained where insurance or tax law requires it.
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws, including in Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland and other states, may give you additional rights, such as the right to confirm whether we process your information, to obtain a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to appeal a refusal. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, so our site does not currently respond to them. Our cookie banner gives you direct control instead.
Children
Our website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
